Branding
Brief:
Design a logo for Planet Value, a second-hand online store. The logo must include a version of the recycle symbol and emphasise sustainability and environmental impact, with a modern, accessible look.
Solution:
The logo uses a stylised recycle symbol formed from leaf shapes to represent sustainability, growth, and environmental care. The blue is used for the Planet Value name to evoke trust and a connection to the planet, reinforcing the brand’s eco-friendly focus while maintaining a clean, modern appearance.
How it’s made:
The logo was developed using the typeface Alphabet Soup at the client’s request. The logomark was inspired by the recycling symbol.
In Adobe Illustrator, a leaf shape was created and duplicated, with the duplicate recoloured to the desired arrow colour. An arrow shape was then subtracted from the original leaf, allowing the second coloured leaf to show through. The completed leaf was grouped and duplicated using a radial repeat to create the three-leaf symbol.
